Park Development Projects

New Parks
Parks, Recreation & Culture strives to provide residents with parks, trails and other recreation facilities that are:
  • thoughtfully designed
  • well maintained
  • meet the needs of our community
We do this by building new parks and improving our existing parks.

Future Blaney Hamlet Neighbourhood Park

East of 230A St. at 137 Ave, Maple Ridge.

Open House:

A community open house will provide an opportunity to share information and for residents to provide their input into the park design. Park planning staff will be available to answer your questions.  A brief survey on desired park amenities, which will assist staff in preparing a concept to guide park development, will be available for residents to complete.

Whonnock Lake Capital Improvements Project - July 22, 2016

Construction has now fully wrapped up at Whonnock Lake Park with the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting taking place on June 11.  Despite the rain, many people came to celebrate the opening of the park and test out the new play areas. Come check out the nature inspired playground, sand and water play area, the picnic gazebo and the new forest trails!

With the parking and circulation improvements as well as the new playground, Whonnock Lake Park has been very popular already this summer.

Keep an eye out for the public art piece entitled “Bloom” which is in the final stages of development. The art installation will surround a large tree near the boat launch.
