October 3, 2017 sees the official launch of the new website for the tourism marketing consortium, Scenic7BC. This is a partnership with the communities along Highway 7, also known as the Lougheed Highway from Coquitlam to Hope, including Maple Ridge, Mission, Harrison Hot Springs and The District of Kent.

The site www.scenic7bc.com promotes the many unique, off the beaten path experiences that can be found by taking the picturesque route from Vancouver through the Fraser Valley to Hope. Video footage highlights the diversity and stunning scenery that can be found along the way, while detailed community profiles connect visitors to the attractions and events on offer. For those looking for ideas for a great day out there are pre-planned adventures that currently include; family-fun, heritage attractions, a photography trip and Hollywood North.

The site is modern, with easy-to-navigate functionality and a high content and visual presence, to give users a real taste for the journey. Developed with local Abbotsford based marketing company FirstPage Marketing the site is also mobile friendly, designed with the traveler in mind.

The website was made possible in part due to the financial contribution from Destination BC’s Co-op Marketing Partnerships Program, which enables groups with a shared common interest and marketing goals that align with the provincial tourism priorities, to leverage funds to achieve a greater marketing impact.

In conjunction with this, Scenic7BC recently invited video producer Chris Wheeler to travel the route. Join Scenic7BC on social media as we share his experiences though a series of video shorts and photographs on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Alternatively, come see for yourself and share using #Scenic7BC and #ExploreBC.
