The popular Spring Treasure Hunt is returning to Downtown Maple Ridge for its 10th year from March 9 - 25! This free, family event is a great activity for Spring Break. Take the kids on a walking tour around Downtown Maple Ridge as they hunt for eggs, collect prizes, and fill in their passport.
To take part in the Spring Treasure Hunt, 'hunters' need to pick up a free passport from around town, or download one free from our website, then stop in all 30 participating businesses listed on the passport. Each business has hidden eggs around their store - find the egg, bring it to store's customer service representative, and they'll exchange it for a small prize and stamp on your passport. From award-winning documentary filmmaker Damien Gillis (Fractured Land, Oil in Eden) and Valhalla Wilderness Society comes a film of breathtaking beauty, Primeval: Enter the Incomappleux.
Filmed on location deep in the heart of BC's Selkirk Mountains, this 20-minute documentary is the story of the majesty, magic and endurance of one of the world's last truly intact temperate rainforests - the incomparable Incomappleux.
Following an expedition of conservationists, biologists and wilderness explorers, Gillis documents the nature and history of this unique place - replete with 2,000-year-old trees and rare lichens - along with a plan to preserve it through a new Provincial or National park, the Selkirk Mountain Caribou Park Proposal.
